I’m Back! ….. Sort of.

posted in Cancer Sucks! on 02/16/05 at 08:02 PM

Well, what can I say? It’s been a while! What’s my excuse? *sigh* Where do I start? Well, first my Granny had shoulder surgery so I had to go take care of her and take her to physical therapy. Thank God that ended after 3 months. I don’t think I could handle helping her bathe her wrinkled old butt one more time! I love my Granny but that doesn’t mean I want to see her butt all lathered up. I mean, who want’s to see that, come on!

Next, I went on vacation with my husband’s entire family. We went to Disney World and had a BLAST. If you haven’t been there then go…NOW! If you have been then GO AGAIN! =] The only bad thing about Disney is the appalling cost of food. First off, every place sells the SAME THINGS! It’s sad that just to survive you have to pay $8.00 for 2 chicken strips and an extra small fry. That doesn’t even include a $2.50 small drink! Secondly, and this is the worst part, the Disney employees just smile while they take your life savings and give you these small rations in it’s place. It’s a small world, no, it’s a expensive world! Still, I would go again in a heart beat! =]

After the Disney World trip, my mother decides to add a little more stress in my life by getting sick and being admitted to the Hospital. She had to have surgery on her leg to remove 3 blood clots. Can you say G.R.O.S.S.? No big deal, right? Well, it wouldn’t have been but they decided to run another test on her and to do this they sprayed some numbing spray in her throat that almost killed her. NO JOKE! She has a major allergic reaction to the spray that they weren’t prepared for since it’s rare to be allergic to that stuff. So, for about 12 hours my mother looked like a big blue smurf. I thought you went to the Hospital for them to save your life, not kill you. Oh well! She is on the mend now. =]

Finally, I am having some health problems. Yep! I’ve got all sorts of things wrong with me. It all started back in July, *if you don’t want to hear about female troubles then stop reading here*. I started my period and I haven’t stopped yet. That’s right folks! I have been on a continuous period for a little over 7 months now. I went to my family doctor back in August and I have seen her many times since. I have tried 4 Depo shots (2 in one month), a week on Primarin, and birth control pills. Nothing has even slowed it down. The doctor finally referred me to a Coochie Doctor and he has been great. Thank god he’s a small man. You know, small hands. He did find a few things the last time I saw him.

1. I have a tilted cervix.
2. I have some major scar tissue on the outside of my cervix.
3. Something might be wrong with my ovaries since I am in intense pain in the area.
4. I have an infection in my uterus. He gave me some antibiotics so hopefully the infection is gone.

I got to see him again today. Woo Hoo. I was hopeing that he could tell me what the hell is wrong with me. Well, he didn’t. All he did was tell me that I have a heart murmor and then schedule me for a minor surgery for March 11th. They are going to stick a camera in my bellybutton and look around in there and also do a DNC. A DNC is basically a major cleaning. So, now I have 3 more weeks of pain to look forward to until I get cut on and cleaned out. Yippiee. I’m calling my doctor tomorrow and stocking up on pain pills. Now THAT I am actually excited about!

So, that’s the past 7 months of my life. How have you been?

P.S. If it weren’t for my pain pills I think I would have exploded by now. You’d be finding bits and pieces of me all over my monitor. That would take more than some canned air to clean up. =]

Awesome Halloween!

posted in Bloggage on 11/01/04 at 10:11 PM

I had an awesome Halloween weekend! A few friends and I wend to a haunted cornfield maze and I loved it! Next year I plan on taking my mother. =] I just thought I would give you some highlights of the evening. =]

The “funniest moment” of the night happened before we even entered the maze. We were walking up to the ticket booth, which was divided up with a rope like at a bank, when a guy in some creepy costume yelled BOO at us. My friend Toni FREAKED out and ran. Unfortunately, she didn’t see the divider rope and she close-lined herself on it. It was great. =]

The next was when I cried, yep, I cried. See, I am scared of the chainsaws and I am scared to death of clowns. Well, when we came around this corner there just happened to be a chainsaw and a clown. My friends freaked and ran away and left me with the 2 things that scare me the most. So, I tried to not act scared so they would leave me alone but I guess I wasn’t convincing enough because they started to follow me. When I couldn’t get away I resorted to folding up in a fetal position, bawling and screaming for Samantha to come save me. When she got me away I had to take a small break so I wouldn’t faint. =] It was great!

Next, we all had just walked over the bridge when another chainsaw came out. Toni grabbed my arm and we ran screaming. We got separated at one point and I ended up in a dead end with a couple of strangers screaming. Then I noticed that Toni was behind me and had latched herself onto some strange man’s arm. That’s when he said, “Why are you holding onto me? I’m the one with the chainsaw!” She looked down and saw that indeed, he did have a chainsaw and then she FREAKED OUT and screamed. Everyone there started laughing, even the chainsaw guy. =]

When we finally got out of there, an hour later, we came to my house and started watching Dawn Of The Dead. We were so tired from running through the maze that we didn’t even finish the movie. I must say that this was my favorite Halloween of all time. I can’t wait to go again next year! =]

Yesterday my husband and I went to this HUGE neighborhood yardsale. It was amazing! I have never seen anything like it. We found an awesome drawing table for $45 and we got a matching couch and love seat for $40 total! How great is that!?!?! They aren’t the prettiest things in the world but they sure are comfortable! =] Well, i’ve gotta run and get ready for Farscape: Peacekeeper wars to come on at 8 on the Sci-Fi Channel. Later mater!

Not A Darn Thing

I don’t really have much to say today. I think I might be getting old. I have found that if I sit in one position for too long my knees hurt. Like, when I go to a movie I almost always hobble out. lolol When I go outside to smoke and I sit on the ground my knees make a pop noise. What the hell is that!?!? I didn’t expect to feel things like this until I was alot older, not 24! lolol Oh well! I do know that when I get old and have grey hair I will not dye it. Why hide who you are? Also, I will NEVER wear pants with an elastic waist. That’s just awful! Don’t worry, I won’t be wearing a mini-skirt while I push my walker but NO elastic-waisted pants for me. Anyone else agree with me? What is something that you won’t do, or whatever, when you get older? Well, I gotta go. Later Mater!

Sorry!

Last night I felt puny. My stomach hurt and I had some sharp pains in my gut. So, what do I do to help soothe these pains?? I get in a hot tub! Am I the only one who thinks that a hot bath will help with all sorts of pains and aches? Well, it helped a little last night. =] Thank God! I was about ready to try to gouge out whatever it was that hurt. lolol Anyways, on to happier news! I’m going to Disney World in January! Woo Hoo! I’ve never been and I know nothing about the place but i’m excited! =] Anyone got any tips? Like, something that I simply MUST do or see while i’m there? Please, let me know! =] Well, time to go. Later Mater!
